Where Once The Onion Bestraddled The Globe Like A Colossus, Now R. Herring Is King of the Jungle

Yeah, I know, I mention him far too often, and he is from Somerset, but Richard Herring on the new King Kong is a gem of a piece. The wonderful thing about modern film blockbusters is that you don't actually have to see them to know everything there is to know about them.

pretty much sums up what i thought of the film. except that i actually enjoyed it, for the most part.

the last line "... the bit where kong breaks the jaw of a t-rex is awesome and worth the entry price alone" is almost verbatim what i said, too. except i'm an unlimited card holder so didn't actually pay to get in, but the percentage of my monthly subscription that went towards it was well worth that bit alone.

I suspect the only reason I'll see it is to see the 1930s stuff, but then my interest in things Edwardian didn't drag me out to see Titanic either.

Excellent though Fafblog is, I've yet to see them offer the same incisive analysis of yoghurt-purchasing preferences as everyone's favourite Son of Cheddar.

I love the fact that he still uses such phrases as "But ahhhhhh..." even in his reviews.
